Thumbs up Reverse (back-up) Sonar

need a little help

my mom has this 98 accord, great car; however she needs a little help backing up

i am looking into different options
i definitely need the sensors to be multi-stage (the reading has to indicate that you are getting progressively closer)
the output can be visual (the little "stop-light" thingie) or audible (beeps)

luxury cars have this; her accord should too

what should this cost?

installed by a stereo shop?

or maybe I can get this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Backup-Sens...sspagenameZWDVW

or this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/METRA-BACK-...sspagenameZWDVW

and just do it myself (i have lots of stereo install experience)

what do you guys think? what is a good brand of "parts"? what model should I be looking for?

your help is appreciated

The only thing I have to say is that these systems don't actually use SONAR.

Tie a kitten to the rear bumper - when it screams, stop backing up.

^^^

-> -> STOP

Seriously, there is a reason driving tests include parallel parking. Can't back up without hitting things == can't drive. She needs practice, glasses, or to stop driving. What are you going to do when she begins hitting things in front of her? Mount a kitten to the front bumper?
