Cool article. Jaguar had a long video on the Ring and how it fits into their development that's worth a watch; they were one of the first to set a permanent facility at the Ring.

I just hope it does not go belly up anytime soon, especially for public days. I plan another european delivery for my next daily, but that is 5-7 years from now unless I decide to be a one-car guy. I need just one lap for the bucket list.

We want to do Euro delivery on our next Volvo, but our lease ends in January...

x3 on the European delivery. I'm thinking about about a Porsche but I believe most European manufacturers offer it. It's on my bucket list and a no brainer for the car enthusiast who likes to travel.

It doesn't look good for the Ring.

Part of it is the car culture. I bring my wife to the track randomly, she's never gunning to go but does in support. I just don't see it being a family resort.

I did Euro delivery for my last car and it was one of the neatest things I have ever done in my life. Driving a couple passes between Switzerland and Italy was sublime. I did not do the Ring, but that is the next delivery. If there is one thing I could tell anyone buying a Audi,BMW, Volvo,Merc it is do WHATEVER it takes to do European delivery. You will cherish it to your grave.

They treat you like a rock star, and the real estate you will see is tremendous. In the words of Shia LaBouf "JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!"

It's about two weeks from port to dealership, no?

We dropped our car in Nice, France. BMW puts it on a train back to Germany then ships from there. Mine went east coast (west coast is longer), spent a couple days at the BMW center in Jersey getting a wheel I curb rashed replaced (free of charge) and a quick recall done. Then it was put on a train to Minnesota and arrived at my dealer. If I remember correctly the whole process took 18 days from drop off in France to my dealer. Not bad if you ask me. And you can monitor the car online to see where it is. Guys on the BMW board will show you how to track the ship in real time on some maritime website. I started getting antsy when the ship was chugging past Nova Scotia.

If you car gets to the docks to top off a cargo ship it goes quicker then if you just miss one, then you have to wait for your ship to fill up for a couple days.
