I thought this was a useful read.
for the RS4 being faster than Roehl in a 997 C2S... 7:58 is fast for a sedan....

How reputable is the 7:58 time for RS4? Was this with a stock car and what tyres?
Sports Auto maanged 8:08 out of a stock RS4, and around 8:05 from the new 911s (ie. 997). So they're not far of each other in terms of times here.
ps. The Veyron time is fabricated. As I have that issue of Wheels magazine and the jurnos were just speculating that it should be capable of 7:40 ... that's all. I don't think it's been tested there (for a time) yet. At least not that I know.
