GLH-S was actually pretty cool, in its way. Light weight with just some power and it hung with WAY more "serious" cars of the day (Corvette, Ferrari, Mustang 5.0, etc.).

A good buddy of mine and I competed together in COMSCC time trials in SPB, he in a ~265rwhp GLHS and myself in my ~245rwhp 240z. He never beat me, but he came *very* close at New Hampshire once: http://www.comscc.org/events/results...?id=2002-09-22
Only a Formula Continental was faster than us that day

FWD is not for me, but putting semi-powerful engines into lightweight cars is always a formula for performance and fun.
I don't hold it against ol' Shel for putting his name on those cars. Some of them show up at Shelby meets, which annoys the hell out of the Mustang crowd, so kinda worth it for that alone

Really sad news. I'm active on the Factory Five website as well, and there is a lot of animosity towards Carroll for trying to sue FFR for the rights to the Cobra design. But I think everybody can agree that he did a hell of a lot for US racing and the car world in general. He was one of a kind, and will certainly be remembered as a legend.
