RSX-S vs. Celica GT-S
Having troubles choosing between these two cars.
I went to the local dealerships and test drove the two models. The Acura dealership only had an auto base rsx as a test model while the Toyota dealership had an auto GT-S so I can't really compare those two models together.
Exterior styling goes to the celica IMO. Interior goes to the rsx. RSX-S would probably beat the Celica in a straight line even if the Celica makes up for horsepower in weight. Handling is a toss-up. However the rsx had a "disconnected" feeling in the steering. Both cars had major blind spots at the rear.
Blah! Help me decide. One more thing, do you guys consider the celica, a chick car?

Get the rsx. The Rsx responds VERY well to boltons. Some are dynoing 220hp with just BOs. A lot are dynoing 190-200 with a chip upgrade which is what s2000s dyno stock. So basically you can make a RSX as fast as a s2000, while with the celica, you may be lucky to make it as fast as a stock RSXs.
I believe that the general consensus is that the RSX is a little bit faster straight line, but that the celica handles better. The cars are basically a dead-even match. I believe the celica handles bolt-ons almost if not as well as the RSX.
Basically, you can't go wrong either way.
SHAMELESS PLUG: That being said, come buy my Celica. PLEASE!

I owned an RSX Type S, and my roommate still owns his Celica GT-S so I'm very familiar with both cars.
RSX Advantages:
Responds better to modifications (Hondata!)
Has a better shifter feel (subjective)
Has a better interior (subjective)
Celica Advantages:
Much more aggresive stance, doesn't sit like a 4x4, looks sexy as hell (subjective)
Handles better stock
Clutch feel is better
Both are great cars. If I were going to do it all over again, I'd probably still go with the RSX.
Bottom line is you can't go wrong with either car.

I say go for the RSX. Make sure to drive a Type-S. It REALLY does feel quite a bit different then a normal one. I like the driving position of the celica, but toyota engines just never do it for me. The 6-speed is wonderfull in the rsx also. Just my 2 cents

the styling of celica is not really my cup of tea
i think RSX is a better complete package, more refined
though i heard great things about the handling of celica.
test drove both and i prefered RSX.
the rear view of the celica is horrible.
but to me, celica seems to be more purpose built. RSX definitely felt grown up to me.

after driving both of them, I would take the RSX hands down. I like it in every aspect better than the Celica. IMHO the Celica has one of the worst feeling manual transmission gear shifters I have ever experienced. It feels vague and when test driving one, I had trouble finding sixth gear on more than one occasion. The RSX is typical Honda, smooth and precise. The Celica also has a cheap looking interior compared to the Acura, not that you would confuse the Acura for an Audi, but still it's better and my 6'1" frame fits the Acura better than the sardine box Celica. Just my two pennies.
