From an S to a Bimmer to a...
I've had a strange auto journey as of late. I had a 2001 S for nearly 7 years as a DD and loved the car to death (118,000 miles worth of fun). Unfortunately I got that itch we all do and got rid of her for a 2008 335i coupe back in Nov. '07. It was a great car but I was never comfortable in it. Literally, a nerve in my leg would get pinched and I'd get shooting pain down my right leg. Also, the car was stupid fast, but was lacking that driver interaction "S factor".
Enter a job loss and a general change in attitude towards efficiency that led me to saying goodbye to the Bimmer. I was not sad to see her go.
My choice for the new ride considering the loss of income and shifting attitude towards sensibility and efficiency? Back to Honda...
Fit is go!

I can honestly say that this little car is a blast to drive! In some ways it is more fun than the Bimmer and I am very comfortable in the car. I think it goes back to the old saying that it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
I just thought I'd share my little journey.

Good luck with the car and with your job search.

Nice Fit.
Out of curiosity, who is going to pay for the car since you lost a source of income? Are you just dipping into your savings for this one?

The Fit dropped my car payment by $375/month.
That's a great angle on your Fit. Nice job. Honestly, you not only save $$$ now on your monthly payment...but you'll likely save on insurance and your Fit should hold it's value rather well considering they are a hot item right now and GAS is never going to stay "cheap."

Congrats. You know, people always congratulate excess and recklessness, but when someone does a responsible move you usually get sympathy, so why not change it up a bit? Man, people like you make me feel guilty driving the S, ugh.
