S2000 or 500hp Civic
Can't seem to make up my mind so I thought I'd ask for some opinions, old friend is selling a civic with a H22 fully built turbo thing traps 140mph in the 1320
Scary fast and those who don't know yes that's a 10sec pass in the quarter I can get the car off him for under ten grand. Or should I get another S2k buy it stock do my own mods or buy off of this forum a supercharged S2k
Not really sure which direction to go the reason I would buy the civic is cause its fast and I could save some money! An the reason why I'd buy an S is I love the car and would love to have another someone swiped my first one and totaled it.

I guess I'd ask what's the point of the Civic? You point it and it goes fast. The S is unique, well balanced, convertible, has a stellar gearbox/engine, looks fantastic, etc., just so many things going for it over a point-and-go-Civic.
Unless you're going to track the Civic and try to get into sanctioned racing, it has no point on the street.
Buy the S

I've had awesome straight line cars, the S is worlds more fun to drive. I'm looking to get a "second" weekend and sunny day car, and I'd take a near-stock S over my 500+rwhp '03 Cobra any day of the week.
If you want a super-fast car to cross-shop with the S2K, consider an FD3 RX7.
I'm currently debating:
Z4M vs S2K vs FD3
Also, you have to keep in mind that 140mph trap speeds are ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS in a street car.
To be frank, my 500rwhp Cobra trapping into the mid-upper 120s was at the ragged edge. There's a certain point where power becomes excessive in a street car. A car that traps comfortable in the mid-high 11*s is about perfect for the street, I think. Much more than that, and you find yourself running out of road, very, very quickly, having a tough time putting down power in corners, tough time putting down power almost anywhere else.
It's a case of "more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow." If you can utilize more of a car's capabilities, you'll have more fun. Never being able to stay in it for more than 7 seconds without ending up going fast enough to go to jail gets old.

I can drive the S at 90% and it's intense, visceral and a blast - use the Z at 90%? That's a flirting with a trip to jail.
I had a Supra and it was MUCH more fun on pump gas settings than on race gas - you could make use of the power and _drive_ it where at 30PSI it was just unmanageable.
