there are a few on here that have. I haven't, but i concidered it and have decent seat time in an M3. Basically, if you love the S2000 for what it is the M3 will not be as fun. If you're craving speed in the straights and torque then you'll like the M3. Obviously if you need practicality the M3 wins but in fun factor the M3 doesn't come close for me (nothing does at any price until the GT2).

I found the M3 to be faster, more comfortable and practical, but not as fun as the S2000.

Shifter is nowhere near as nice as the S, and it feels a lot heavier.

I have also considered it!
Drove the SMG version. Didn't really like, would prefer the man. version.
But I also think it wouldn't be as fun as the S.

I have both an E36M3 and S2000 and decent seat time in E46M3s.

Are you more interested in comparing E36M3s to S2000s or E46M3s?

I have gone from a E36 325is to S2000 to E36M3 to E46M3. All of those are my track car.

I like the S2000 a lot due to its shifter, agility and convertible. My E46M3 has SMG. For track only duty, I like the E46M3 better. Hey, it has SMG.

Sometime, I really miss the S2000. but, most of me misses the convertible part. All M3s are powerful and easy to modify. (read, cheaper to mod).
