s2k comparison
In certain situations, FWD will be better, such as slippery conditions. This is due to more weight over the wheels and a more benign understeer that is easier to handle. RWD, on the other hand, allows you to more easily position the car in a turn and allows the weight distribution to be more balanced (50/50). Additionally, high horsepower in a FWD car will mean HUGE arm and chest muscles to overcome torque steer tendencies.
F1/CART/NASCAR/etc. don't use FWD for many reasons but ultimate performance is a major consideration...

I think that what he means by FD, is the 3rd gen. RX7. The S2k, has a little higher skidpad rating, but on a road course track, the FD will always win. The think is, the rear end is a little better refined on an FD, because Mazda has been making RWD cars for a while, the S2K is honda's first in a long time.
what's the skidpad rating on a s2k? regardless, skidpad is largely a factor of the tires, so i don't pay too much attention to that.
here's an article on the fd versus the nsx from road and track...3 of the 6 editors picked the rx7 as the best handling sports car in america
