S2KI forums are sad...
After reading on these forums for years, I found that I felt less and less compelled as time went on. It is a true shame that 95% of the people on here still talk about drag racing and compare the S2000 to other cars in terms of HP and the 1320'. My god is it sad!!! I can't believe, but yet I can, that so many of you have no idea what you car is meant to do and how many years of engineering experience went into it. Oh ya alot of you say you know it is good at the "twisties", yet you actually have no real direct experience of it. Or even worse, you don't care to. D@mn shame. I no longer own an S2000, but will always greatly respect it for what I did in that car. I went through corners in that car that were mind altering. Amazing machine. I wish I had the income to have it and my STI. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am so disappointed with the general mentality I observe here. People are always comparing the S to every new car that comes out with a higher HP number or better 1320' time. If you don't like the car then sell it and move on. BUT, I will tell you this, nothing has come out in its price range that is even close to it.
I wrote this thread because I lost my mind reading another thread here in car talk about the saturn ion. Someone was comparing the ion to the S because of an exhaust giving it good HP. What the hell does that have to do with the S? The ion is not even a remotely close car in capability. But, if you are a "drag racer" then you wouldn't understand that.

Who cares why people like the car? There are obviously many people that track and auto-x their S2000. If it wasn't for the vast majority that just like the looks/whatever, the car probably would have costed alot more or not even been built by Honda...I usually just ignore Street Encounters and S2000 talk...

Nothing for the price can touch it. Your absolutely right. But those for thousands less come very damn close and are getting closer. Everyone here is just worried. We all agree we drive something special. Its a technological masterpiece. But where the frustration comes from is here. Why havent our beloved HoMoCo built on it? When u have something great, u dont let it sit and still be great in its own right. You improve it, protect it, make it better and STRONGER than before. (instead of making hondajets!!....jus kidding!) At the end of the day its still our power, passion, and pain.

Whats sad are people that can't compare cars or talk shop. Even sadder are the ones that can't accept the truth or any negative comments about the S2K.
