Saturn Sky Redline: Dead

I feel the same way - I had them "short listed" while I was shopping for a roadster. Well, I like the lines of the Saturn exterior, but *hate* all the silly chrome trim around the lights, etc.Originally Posted by Triple-H' date='Jan 22 2009, 09:55 AM
I love the look of the Sky, too bad the interior of the Solstace is more appealing to me.I'd like to see one with all that stuff removed or blacked out.
I felt like the seating was superior in the S2K - seats are a huge sticking point with me (I had Recaros then custom in my last two rides). I want to say the interior is "better" on the RL, but I guess it's really more "complete" where the S2K is verging on a dedicated track car (though it's still reasonably effective).
I drove a GXP Solstice and it was solid - the power felt as linear as the S2K (even FI vs. NA). The steering was not nearly as quick, the turn in a little more lazy, the ride however was softer, so you're definitely trading some performance for comfort.
I didn't really do a thorough inspection in the car to assess the build quality since I didn't really dig on them enough to keep them in the running, but on the surface, the materials were decent - felt very Corvette C6-ish.

Silly S2000 drivers talking about a car that has the ability to spank the S2K in every way.

LOTS and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of cars can spank the S2000...that doesn't necessarily make 'em "worthy" of my affection. Originally Posted by nightwalker' date='Jan 22 2009, 10:45 PM

Stomp......wait...Boost!
IMO a "Comfy" interior does not make it superior. If i wanted a lazyboy i'd have one in my house, not in my car.
I hated the Soltice interior. There are gaps where the panels meet etc etc. GM is getting better with inteiors just they are not quite there yet.
When they were new, I liked the styling really well, and all the reviews had me really expecting to buy one the day I test drove it. When I drove it, the top-gear passing turbo lag and the fake aluminum trim were my biggest turn-offs. I DD the car and I don't want to wait 2 seconds for it to spool up before I can pass a Camry on the freeway. I bought the S instead.Originally Posted by GrandMasterKhan' date='Jan 22 2009, 01:59 PM
More like "Imagine an S2000 with turbo lag"Stomp......wait...Boost!

Silly troll. The redline makes 260hp with a turbo. Slap a turbo on the F20 and goodbye redline. Also, I don't know about you, but I like having trunk space and not having to get out of the car to put the top down.Originally Posted by nightwalker' date='Jan 22 2009, 07:45 PM

Just for fun, I decided to read some of your previous posts:

S2K transmissions suck. Buy an Evo, best transmission out there.
Even people who hate Hondas usually concede that the S2000 transmission is one of the best 6-speed manuals ever made. The fact that you made this comment proves that either A) you've never driven an S2000 or B) you have no clue what a good transmission is.S2K transmissions suck. Buy an Evo, best transmission out there.
