My first car was an 87 16v Scirocco. I loved that car. If a new rocco does come to fruition, that could be a fun daily car.

looks kinda cool. if they kept the weight down, and stuck with the awd and 280hp v6, looks like the evos and the sti buyers might have a more luxurious option to consider

After my experience with VW reliability, especially that of a Scirocco, it would be hard for me to even consider one. The worst reliability in a new car I have ever owned was a 1977 Scirocco, and after getting burned that badly there is no chance I buy anything with that name. I bet there are thousands more that feel the same way.

I'm sure the base US engine would be the 2.0T, which should be bumped up from 200hp by then in typical VW/Audi fashion. Now if they could just get the weight near 3000 lbs! The new GTI is 200-300 lbs more than that.

My friend has a VW corrado vr6. Absolutely loves that car...he's on his 2nd right now, but damn...that thing (even stock) is always overheating! That motor is so crammed in there..its even worse now that he's got a Supercharger on it...
