Seems like you are comparing apples to oranges. If you want a new, powerful, four-door Ford. Go for it.

I wouldn't do it. I chose my S over a '15 sti. The RS wouldn't be any different.

Meh.
It's just not special. But if you want something new, practical, and powerful go for the RS. How much can you sell the s2000 for? 15,000+, yes sell it. 12,000-, not enough money.

Trade in? No, your going to get robbed at the dealer. Sell it private and use that money as the down payment.

So many who have given up their S come to regret it. Not all, but it sure seems like an awful lot. I drove 4-doors for a long time, back when I as raising a family. If you need more room, go for it. The Focus RS might be tempting, but it's still a Ford Focus. I can't see myself ever getting rid of my S. I still have the old Odyssey to haul people or large items. I can't see stepping back to a four door sedan again. Not for a long time, at least.
