I would take the EVO over the WRX. I drove a WRX and thought it was a nice car but it is UGLY. Although I am kinda getting use to it.

Yeah I think the lancer looks better. Plus there are too many WRXs at my work althought I think there will be just as many Evos around the lot when they come out.

to me the JDM Evo VII pics look really nice. the Evo looks much more aggresive and fast, of course i am talking just looks.

on a side note, europeans seem to really enjoy both wrx and evo vII as every european car magazine features them on every issue somehow...

I'd take the WRX just because I already have one and love it The seats are really nice in the WRX. Even though the Evo has more power I still like the look of the WRX more. Now if the STi came out then all hell would break loose

The difference is in the torque. Namely, the Evo7 and Sti both have gobs of it, beginning at fairly low RPM. One of the benefits of a small lightweight turbo.

On all the tests I have seen, Best Motoring January 2002 edition, and their hot version videos the Evo VII could not be touched by even the WRX STI version. One race, while in the wet, pitted the Evo VII, V-spec II GTR, Porsche Carrera, Honda NSX, RX-7, WRX STI, and new M3 against each other. The Evo won with the STI lagging way behind. The Evo was helped by the Porsche blocking the GTR for two laps, out of 5, and by the wet. The second video was comparing the two in slalom acceleration, cornering, drivability and braking. There was no contest. The EVO was better in all respects except IMHO for build quality.

I have always liked the Subaru but have been trying to place a deposit for the Lancer EVO because it was just that much better.

Yeah I have that video too. It made me want the Evo, but I still prefer the WRX STi over it.
