The Kappas will turn heads though, and are more rare than S2000's (if that's your thing.)
FWIW, they're not _that_ much more rare according to Wiki it's a difference of about 5K cars for the Solstice though that's all model variants (GXP, "regular", etc.), using some quick and likely inaccurate math

This area is saturated with both the Solstice and Sky.

I put them on my roadster list and they came off pretty quickly. I think the S is a much better looking vehicle and doesn't have any top dysfunction (though it of course, doesn't close "clean" like the Sol).

The GXP model with the cheap HP increase (via the factory FI) was kind of tempting.

the performance isn't bad, but can be destroyed by any aftermarket turbo/supercharger setup on the S2k.
That's kind of a weird statement. If you're going to talk about spending thousands to add forced induction to an S2000, then you should also mention that you can add 50 horses to a Solstice with just a chip -- you can even get an upgrade kit from GM that doesn't even void your warranty!

I like the Solstice, but I like the S better. The only reason to buy a Solstice is because it was assembled in Delaware and it is good to support American workers. That is why my next car will be a Mustang instead of a Lambo, Ferrari, or McLaren, well maybe $$$ has something to do with that descision as much as any allegiance to the flag.

The turbo Solstice/Sky = amazingly cheap power...

But I don't dig the looks of the car, or the brand, or really much about it other than the engine.

To me, they symbolize the domestic/American equivalent of a Roadster; fast in a straight line, cheap to mod, but lacking in looks/styling/soul in comparison to the Japanese/European counterparts.

I prefer the S2000 over a Solstice/Sky the same way I prefer an M3 over a Camaro.

That being said, if they had more time to refine the platform, it could've been something special. A 2nd generation of them with revised styling might've been the equivalent to an American S2000.

To me it feels a lot like driving a Corvette with a powerful turbo 4. I've driven a few Kappas. The shifters seem to vary. The best felt as good as the better BMW shifters. That's not Honda good but still plenty satisfying to use. The worst was better than the Corvette but trailed the Miata and S2000. The chassis is every bit as stiff as the Honda's. The car isn't as tossable but not bad. It doesn't have the throttle lift suspension unloading issue that earlier S2000's had. Overall the chassis was extremely competent but not as much fun as one might want. The top wasn't great but it really wasn't at all hard to use. It wouldn't bug me that much. The power was good. Visibility was OK. I don't like the idea of the really large tires.

Overall I find the car to be interesting. I would probably take one over the current Miata because I don't think the Miata looks good at all and I hate the seats. At the same time I couldn't see picking one over an S2000 even though the engine in the GXP is really good.

I sat in a Saturn Sky Redline and thats all it took for me. The seat was squishy with no support. The interior was cheap and tacky. The car just seemed to not know what it wanted to be. Blvd cruiser or high performance sports car? Trendy styling that will look dated in 10 years. Thats what I always loved about the S. Timeless good looks. Long hood with a short rear section. As soon as you get in, you know yor're sitting in a drivers car. A purpose-built machine. No power/heated seats. No GPS. No climate control. No Slushbox option on the build sheet. Just a high revving 4 cyl with 4.10 gears and staggered wheels all connected to the sweetest shifting 6 speed trans on the planet. Dig it people.

I think it looks like an electric shaver.
