Default Some advice on whether i should get 01 s2k~

Hi...
well i have been looking at this 01 s2k for couple weeks now....but just not sure whether it is the right choice of a car for me...

please help me and give me some advices....

The biggest issue for me is how the car handles in rain and snow...
well i live in Vancouver and it rains like crazy.... i've been looking around in this forum and it seems like that there are lots of 'spin outs' and 'dangerous activites' being reported...
is it true that s2k is not very reliable in rain???

i don't drive like maniac in rain...around 60 miles per hour? average?
and i do have experience with rwd cars,,, (toyota 4runner which is in 2x4 mode in most of time)and Audi A4....

of course i don't plan to drvice s2k in snow....but how bad is it??

And is it a reliable car? no minor or major problem like other hondas?

is it suitable for daily driving??

if you guys could help me and give me some advices ...i would appreciate it...

Its my daily driver and I love every minute of it...just get snow tires for the winter and when the original tires wear out, look into something a little more suited towards daily driving like the Yokohama avs es100's or Kumho supra ecsta 712's.

Also make sure you are ready to go to a 2-seater or have a backup car at your disposal with some space.

edit: Yes it is very reliable, just be careful of holes in the top, the 00-01 have had some issues there and a new top is expensive if warranty won't cover it.

It's my daily driver and my only car. I love it, but sometimes wish I could bring more than one passenger in the car. I would look for a 2002 or 2003 because they have a glass rear window and some nice interior touches like leather instead of carpet on the center console. Also, the 2002+ models supposedly have some of the mechanical glitches worked out (i.e. clutch buzz, 2nd gear grind). I have driven in very bad ice before. You just have to be careful and gentle, but I would not recommend trying to go up a hill in snow or ice. The tires are just not made for that. The price difference between a 2001 and 2002 should not be much (and is worth it, in my opinion).

#1 get the car, you will love it.

#2 yes, I have crashed one, due to driving like an ass and having bad tires on the car. they do get squirrly, same as any other "driver's cars" that is the best part. Just do not drive like an ass on bad tires.

WTF? I didn't think A4 was available in a RWD configuration. Either FWD or 4WD.

In fact, it seems to me that I read somewhere that Audi's quattro system was FWD until the ECU sensed slippage and transferred power to the rear wheels too. Not full-time AWD like Subaru, and definitely not RWD.

there are no rwd factory audi's fwd (lame) or awd.

some of the subi guys are putting open diffs in the wrx/sti's and drifting them now with rwd.

How could you have owned an A4 and not know it is FWD (or AWD) ????
