This little RX7 has a big Chevy 5.7 liter V-8. The V-8 was 70 lbs more than the stock engine. It has potential but with 350 hp and 2800 lbs it's not too fast.
There were spaces so tight a shoehorn wouldn't fit. Maybe a business card but not much more.

isn't this becoming more and more popular of a swap for the fd? heard its much more reliable than the 13b engine and doesn't throw off the weight distr. that much

hmm, since the chassis weigh just as much as a s2000, why dont they just dump in a f20c into it? and yea, small blocks are becoming more and more popular now since they provide way more reliability than the 13b. or so my cousin says after his 3rd motor on his 3rd gen rx-7

Oh I forgot to add that you need a better rear for that also, I would go with Ford, since they are very reliable rears.

I can't complain from a performance perspective, but as a rotary fan it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This is becoming a fairly popular swap, but usually only with those that have limited rotary knowledge or those that have had horrible luck with rebuilds.

If I wanted something like that I'd just buy a Vette and save myself the time, trouble, and cost. RX-7 guys typically bought them so that they could be fast, and since most fail to realize that a stock S2k is as fast as a stock FD they would never consider using such a "weak" engine.
