Spending $6k on a daily driver...
Hey guys,
I'm in field sales for a company and have been putting too many miles on my S. I'm thinking about buying a beater for a daily driver. I drive about 500mi a week for business and want to spend about $6k for a daily driver. So far I've seen some mid 90's Accords in my price range. What do you think of Honda Accords with about 80k miles on them? Any other suggestions?

I used to have a Mazda Millenia S a years ago, I really liked this car, I was at 125000 KM when I got rid of it, and it was reliable, comfortable, and peppy. I too was in sales and beat the snot out of it.
I'm in the same boat shopping for a beater.
Does anyone know if the Integra GSR and Type R motors require using premium gas?
Also, I was checking the stats on edmunds and the EPA listings are the same for a GSR vs. an LS model Integra claiming 25/31 for both. Is that accurate? I'm trying to figure out how the car with 30 more hp is getting the same gas mileage.

I would look at the second generation MR2s. Saw a bunch on ebay right around what you want to spend. Some had as low as 55k miles on it. Not sure if you need more room but always been a big fan of the MR2 first and second generation. Had a 85 in High School and absolutely loved that car.
If you can find it in the price range, look for a used SAAB 900/93. The turbos are quick and return good overall mileage. I paid $6300 for a '97 900 turbo with less than 60,000 miles. The only big issue is the very easy to swap, $320 ignition module. They seam to die every 70,000. Still, that easier and cheeper than a timing belt swap at 60,000 (SAAB I4's have chains).
