Subaru Legacy
So I've never really been interested in Subarus. Aside from the STi I don't really know much about them and the 'normal' models tend to slip under the radar.
The Legacy was redesigned for 2010 and I don't remember hearing too much about it. It certainly isn't what I'd call beautiful, but I think its definitely a "grow on you" kind of car. Its the specs that really interest me - a little more digging reveals it to be a pretty good bargain. The BIGGEST surprise is the weight. Its a 4 door, 5 passenger, AWD sedan that weighs under 3500lbs (3477 for the GT I configured).
Now, the base model is a 170hp and starts under 20K. Then there are the GT and the 3.6 models. The 2.5GTs are available with a 6M so thats what I started with
I built a 2011 2.5GT and it came to $34,120. That includes a 6 speed manual mated to a 265hp 2.5L turbo'd flat four and includes navigation, HK 440watt sound system, etc. It does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and one would assume it's easy to boost the power (exhaust, tune)
What do ya'll think? Any good to drive?
I really like it.

They seem very nice. Some think they compare well to say the Infiniti G37. I wouldn't disagree necessarily, but IMO at the price point it's at, there is one really nice feature that is available on all the competition that Subaru does not offer: memory seats. A lot of people won't care, but if you share the car at all it's very nice and like I say, kind of expected on cars at this price point.

I love them, or the 2.5GT Ltd at least - great car to get lots of power out of, and awd. The price creep makes them harder to justify against something like a rwd G37, but its great vs an awd G37 or the super lame G25 sedan which still prices higher. Forego nav and you have a $32k car that is very nice.

Reading through some threads on NASIOC, the 2.5 still seems to be suffering from a bad tune from Subaru... anyone know if Legacy's are affected? I also know there was a pretty big recall a couple months back for the Legacy.
Honda might be the most reliable brand nowadays, too bad they're also the most bland.
