In other news, BMW's hybrid sportscar has went from rumor to near production test mule in the same amount of time it took Honda to make the NSX superbowl commercial.

Magazines are lumping the NSX with the other 3 new hybrid Hypercars- Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 Spyder. Unfortunately, although very expensive for an Acura ($100k+) it can't really compete with the other three in price or prestige, at least IMO.

I don't think someone considering shopping for a 918 Spyder or LaFerrari will cross-shop the new NSX...

Being a big NSX fan I do have to admit if given the choice of La Ferrari or the new NSX (assuming same cost).....I would definitely go with the Ferrari...

I do love the new NSX and wish to own one eventually.

Yeah its a silly comparison as the NSX will be sub $200K and the La Ferrari will be well over $1 million.

A little higher-res:

(Those are HRE logos on the wheels. And despite the optical illusion, the front and rear wheels are the same diameter.)

Its the Japanese R8. Except it'll be an R6...

I've seen mule NSX-replacements on the track before, so I'm still not convinced. Let me know when it is on a sales floor.
