Default Thinking of buying a bike

I was thinking about picking a FZR400 up from my friend. It will be my first bike. My plans as of now are to eventually track it in a vintage/classic class. So far, my research has shown that this is a very solid bike. Any opinions?

Great bikes. Hard to find. I would have bought on in the past if I had the opportunity to do so. An RS125/250 aprilia would have been great too, but that's a different story.

Good choice for first sports bike - a friend had one as his.

The only problem he had with it was when one of the con-rods wanted to be free - so left through the side of the block.

Not sure if that is a common problem though. . .

You can race it competitively in few classes with WERA/CCS, and with a good rider it can do fast laptimes. Great choice indeed.

Great little bike but I had a really hard time finding one in good condition when I was looking. Have you managed to find one?

Excellent! Congratulations. It should be a fantastic bike to learn on and if you decide to upgrade, can make a fast, cheap race bike as well.
