Jeremy Clarkson is funnier but Tiff is a way better driver. I like listening to Jeremy but I like watching Tiff.

Great video - thanks for posting.

Tiff stated in that video that the M3 would be 50,000 pounds? I did the conversion from British pound to US dollars. It comes out 100k in US dollars.

Are they really going to sell the new M3 at that price range or lower it in the U.S Market?

Tiff is a much better car reviewer than Clarkson. Clarkson is the USA Today for Tiff's NY Times.

The costs in the automobile market do not convert directly. For example, there are tons of cars that cost about the same in pounds as they do here in dollars. The new M3 will be 60-70k IMO.

M Dynamic Mode: what ever happened to slipping the clutch and modulating the gas?

Since I know how to drive, why would I pay for more settings than TC and no TC? This whole 220 layers of traction and stability and poofy rear wag control is ludicrous. Sure, some engineer in Germany got to show off, but to what benefit? You either want the system on, or off. Having to spend ten minutes turning it all off, or actually having to program a button to do it is silly. 99% of the people driving the car will see it kick in a few times a year at most, and anyone who knows how to drive a powerful RWD car will be able to react as quick or quicker than the car anyway. Anyone who wants it off will want it all off, not just parts of it. Nobody is going to want to enter a menu system every time to set five different options to one of ten different settings just to lay some rubber.

Sorry, but that's the number one reason I will be very skecptical about spending my money on a BMW. Too much crap I don't want or need that takes too much time to disengage when it could all be easily controlled by a single on/off button. They sure know how to ruin a good car, IMHO.

Car costs are not even across currencies or states.

It has to do with registration costs, average fuel costs, average insurance rates, emissions requirements, the list goes on and on. Not quite as simple as how much does it cost to ship over here and put an inspection sticker on it, unfortunately. The UK has a large amount of wealthy people against the population as whole but still is a small market. This translates in to higher prices at reduced production numbers, loosely.

I think BMW is taking risks and is out there trying new things. However, BMW is slowly but surely turning in to a MB no one wants to drive except on the freeway and certainly doesn't want to own 10 years after it's produced.

ABS is all the technology I want in any vehicle and maybe some traction control that I can easily turn oo and off for bad weather days or for not as skilled drivers, kids, some* women (and men), etc.

All I can think of is what the hell happens when this stuff starts breaking? I know BMW is thinking about it and can barely sit still with excitement waiting for those repair bills.

I've heard the maintenance costs of BMW's after their 40k give away [what maint. is a car supposed to have between 0-40k miles these days anyways besides 4-8 oil changes? I'm not that impressed] is absolutely atrocious. My Uncle bought a new 5 series two years ago as an 06 model and is at 36k miles already. His friend was charged some obscene figure for his first oil change after 40k miles and is trying to convince my uncle to sell the car before it implodes with maint. costs.
