Default Took a new GTO out for an extended test drive..

Styling is a bit bland, but not bad overall. Interior is pretty nice, everything is laid out well. Steering, handling, braking, and shifting of the six-speed felt pretty good overall.

Power from the LS1 was strong, as expected. I got scratch (spun tires) on the 1-2 shift as well as the 2-3 shift. Pretty impressive. Engine note sounds good, not loud, but nice tone, deep and throaty.

Anyway, with the rebates and incentives on the '04 GTO's, it's probably a great car for someone who wants to haul a** and not be noticed too much. I put about 30 miles on the car, pretty hard ones, and I was much more impressed with the car at the end than before I had driven it. It's also pretty quiet, much quieter than my C5 with interior noise, etc.

It would make an awesome daily driver.

more like 0-60 in 5.2-5.3, 1/4 in 13.2-13.5, if you want to go by actual test numbers.

s2ksih specs, but very torquey. I would think it could get a better 1/4 time???
My previous car was a 300zxTT 3500-3600 lbs and 300hp 280 tq stock (of course i pushed it to almost 500hp ) but stock those cars did about low 14s so maybe they didnt push GTO?

The 2004 incentives are getting good. V8, six speed, and around $30K.
