One of the weaker episodes of Top Gear, in my opinion. The SLS review was fine, but the "Hovervan" bit was very much staged and scripted.

Seems like it would have had to have been scripted. No way random people would just put up with that thing. Especially when they go by the restaurant and blow over the tables..

It could of been worst. IT was still entertaining nonetheless.

The entire show is scripted, that segment was no different from them attempting to cross the channel with their home made boats. There have been only a handful of times that it has gone off script; James falling and busting open his head in the desert and all of them almost getting their asses kicked by rednecks. Otherwise, it's all planned out just like every other reality type show.

The last couple of seasons have been kind of 'meh' but I'll watch until the end. I want some more cheap car challenges, those usually end up being hilarious.

I'm not sure the redneck bit was "real" either, but it's still my favorite show.

I completely understand that, but I think what I was getting at is the fact that the Hovervan's entire purpose was to try and get laughs. Whereas the cars crossing the channel at least had a legitimate goal that was accomplished (sort of...)

For example, during the hovervan bit James "accidentally" telling them to go the wrong way...oh no look, a small waterfall...

The older seasons had better writing, this one just felt half assed and rehashed.

Jackman is a great guest. One of the more engaging I've seen.
