Default trade in advice

would appreciate your thoughts.

besides the s2k, the DD is a 99TL with nav. it gets ok mileage, but is extremely not fun to drive. would it be "dumb" to trade it plus lots of cash for the new honda fit hybrid coming out next yr?

Huh? Your question doesn't make much sense. Why would it be dumb to trade a 9-10 year old car for a new Fit Hybrid? Dumb in what way?

Well the upside is that you'll be getting a car with much better gas mileage. And with the price of gas per gallon right now, I think it's a very smart trade.

I loved my 99TL. It certainly isn't as 'fun' to drive , but that is what the S is for anyway.

Either way you win. If you keep the TL, you save lots of cash. If you get a fit, you get a sweet car with great mileage. It just depends what is more important to you.

How will that be fun. It's slow as shit to begin with. Add more weight to it for the batteries, that will be fun. The cost difference between a hybrid fit and a standard fit will take 3-4 years to recover just as any other hybrid. The cost of fuel will eventually come down, probably after the election.

Why not just get a non-hybrid Fit or a Civic? Very good gas mileage, save yourself a few grand up front, and probably more fun to drive in both cases...

Just get a motorcycle. High fun factor, low investment, great gas mileage.

I am assume you are contemplating the purchase b/c you want to save money b/c I have not heard of ANYONE trading a TL for a FIT b/c the Fit is so fun to drive...

Why not just buy yourself a used car that gets good gas mileage if the cost of gas is hurting you...
