Second Beetle was 1.8T plus 6 speed = 180 horsepower

Both Beetles were driven by the wifing unit. She just loved them until we got the second one (Beetle Turbo S).

i bought my car used for $29k (add $300 to put in a stock PCM so I have a warranty). It came with the exhaust and subframe connectors.

I think new ones are $32k or so plus guzzler tax. no one should be paying MSRP for one at this point. They have been out for 10-11 months or so.

My car had 3400 miles on it when i got it, so it was a pretty good deal even with having to replace the computer.... I would have put an exhaust on it eventually anyway.

I paid around 33K, which is Invoice price. Keep in mind there are some dealers still trying to get additional money over MSRP and others that will only sell at MSRP.

I remember Ford shut down Cobra production a few months back... what was
the issue? If they did fix the production "problem".. would I be able to identify
which car is made after the problem fix??

MSRP for the Cobra is $34,750 I believe... I bought mine last Oct./Nov. for $33K + applicable taxes and fees. They briefly stopped production of the 03 Cobras for quality control issues which didn't stop production for long. The early run 03's are infamous for the engine 'tick' and some have a vibration or a pull in the steering. There have been a couple of TSB's released and one of them is a 'silent recall' addressing the engine tick which is fixed by replacing the heads. I have had no problems and have a first run car... the second run cars can be identified by the blue paint where the motor meets the head on the drivers side. Local dealers are still advertising them at $34,750 + $5K ADM and they might get it since dealer stock here is VERY LOW and they have stopped taking orders for 03's... only 04's which are very limited (1,000 I think) and only come in Mystichrome.
