I almost bought one in 1978 when British Leyland still made the original Mini. At that time it was a piece of crap but looked so neat.
None of the British Leyland cars ever lasted long in Canada, even though they had some pretty great models.
The TR6 and TR7 come to mind as well as the MGB-GT roadster. It is nice to see the reincarnation of the Mini do so well in the market.
I still love my Jap S2K and proud of it.

Im putting my order in for an 05 mini in a few weeks. I love them, and they do really drive like a go-kart on steroids. I need a small car (dont want anything big) and like the looks of it and the gas milage : performance : price : fun to drive ratio is great in my opinion.
I think the design is a love-hate thing.
If anyone was interested there is a slew of new things coming with the 05's including a light face-lift, 7 more hp (but what really matters is the Works kit will be improved upon, can anyone say 220 hp Mini under factory warranty!) Getrag gear box,, and a few new colors.

also www.mini.com has a flash set-up with one part dedicated to the new '05 (make sure you choose the international site, as the nation specific sites dont show the '05 changes)

Awesome Mini meet.
I like the Mini. My girl friend and I want one. She wants a blue Cooper auto with white top and I want the dark grey Cooper S with racing strips and the big sun roof/moon roof.
Too bad for the bikers. I'm about to get my first bike or am shopping for one this year.

Why does everyone think that every picture on the internet is fake? Come on people, it's not like there is a bunch of guys, sitting in a room, photoshopping boring pictures in the hope they will someday be put on the internet in some forum, to fool maybe 100 guys into thinking that somewhere there is a tree that motorcyclists hit on a semi-regular basis.
