Default TSX HID lights

So I was thinking about grabbing a pair of HID lights from a TSX. My old friend from the junkyard said he would sell them to me and I was wondering what cars these would fit in.

RSX? Integra? Civics?

Are the TSX lights 4300k?

All oem hid bulbs are around 4300k. TSX projectors are very nice, they are usually worth around 200 bucks. They arent too big, and they should fit in all the cars u listed.

it'll take some custom work to put the bulbs/projector/balast-igniters into a civic or integra. for a civic, i think it would require custom projector headlight assemblies (which exist).

Would I just be better off buying aftermarket HID lights or getting these?

Custom modification would be required for any car, it's never plug and play with a retrofit. For any reflector based headlight (civic/rsx) you would have to dremel a hole and mount the projector. You dont have to buy an aftermarket headlight assembly.

By aftermarket, I assume you mean a hid kit. So, basically using HID components with stock halogen optics.

First off, you need to determine whether or not you want HID for functionality or for looks. If you just want the look, then get a hid kit. If you really care about lighting performance, then spend the time and money for a retrofit.

In my case, I bought a Hid kit for my DC2. Its ok, but I really wish I had just done a retrofit instead. If you can get a set of TSX projectors cheaply, then I would jump on the opportunity.

just a reminder...you need the ballast/igniters from the TSX as well.

HID bulbs don't run on 12V like halogens do. you need the ballast/igniter to change the 12V signal to one the HIDs can run from.

if I'm not mistaken, the civic and RSX are reflectors. In that case D2R bulbs would be best. The DC2 used projectors. You could use the TSX projectors in those, although you need to adapt them to fit.
