Default need help with HIDs

the headlights are aftermarket, the driver side HID went out on me a few weeks ago. i bought a new bulb from napa. after about 5 days the bulb shoted or melted at the base. i got napa to replace it for free. i put the new bulb in and you can tell that the HID ballast has a differnt buzz to it than it should. the headlight has the three LED lights along the top of it, when the bulb first went out on me i went to look at what the problem was and i could smell something burning. i shut off the lights and unpluged the ballast, turned the lights back on and no burning smell. the second i plug the ballast back in "with the HID out" i can see some smoke coming from the top of the headlight where the three LED lights are, unplug the ballast and no more smoke. when i first replaced the headlight i replaced the cheep press on splices with crimps. i didnt mix any wires i checked the other side and its all the same. im not sure if its the ballast that went out or the fact that the headlights are aftermarket and im putting in a OEM bulb from napa. the ballasts look like they are OEM so i went with a OEM bulb. any help would be nice right now. the bulbs arent cheep and i dont want to keep buying new ones. i have pictures of the aftermarket headlights and the bulb that melted or shorted

Was the bulb put on correctly? I have only ever had smoke from not putting in a bulb right and having some coatings melt. I haven't had to replace the bulbs on the S2K yet so I can't speak directly to that. I would double check to see what exactly you are running (looks like OEM does not mean it is OEM) and work from there.
