How much of the year do you ride your bike, as in how deep into the fall/winter do you ride? I'm thinking about buying a bike but it's kinda late in the summer.

Also what bike under 10k should I get? I used to have a 2005 Yamaha R6 back when I was 18-19 but actually ended up hitting a deer on it one day on a back road. Luckly I had all my gear on and didn't get to hurt. I'm now 24 and debating buying another bike.

 

I'm in Upstate NY and ride from April into November. I've got heated grips and vest and will ride to work at 25 degrees and above. I've got a 6th gen Honda Interceptor. They are no longer made, but very clean ones can be had for $5k or less. Very sporty and comfortable for longer rides. Spent two days and 500 miles on mine last weekend ripping up back roads in Pennsylvania.
