used low-end exotics...
You know, all the cars mentioned, with a little careful searching probably cost the same to purchase ($28k- $40k). I could probably afford to BUY any of them... However, unfortunately, I don't think I could afford to OWN any one of them...
The routine and major services come at more frequent intervals, as well as being several times more expensive. Insurance is also higher, and the cars are not really practical enough to do daily errands in them (not that it can't be done).
Before buying an S2000, I considered a '95-97 Porsche 911 C2 coupe. The last of the air-cooled 911s with dramatic improvements to the rear suspension. And in my opinion, the best looking. I found quite a few in SoCal arounf $30k. And while I feel a Porsche is about as practical and as reliable as an exotic can get, I felt the maintenance fees would make owning one a burden. Not to say I couldn't, but it might prevent me to do other things I want to do. But every time I look at one... I think that I will have to get one some day!

Naw, I was just lucky.. and even at that you might not think so if you saw what it cost me!
The only car that I sold, and truely regretted doing so was the Pantera. Back in the day, I heard from my parents weekly that Tim Horton died in one of those things. I couldn't take the nagging and sold it.. what a mistake. They are really hard to find around here, but if I found a good one, I'd buy it.

My stepfather has a 308 GTSi Quatrovalvule that he would sell. Seldom uses it. It recently had its belts replaced. Has 66k miles (i believe) and looks GREAT. paint is in great shape and so is the interior.
I have driven it a few times to go to Crystal Cove and its a nice car to cruise in. Runs/Sounds awesome. $35k
Its red/tan

The last Pantera I saw was at a hot rod show last year. It had a valve cover that read "Ford 7.0 Liters", a couple of really big nitrous bottles in the back, and oversized sticky tires on the rear. One side window had a sticker of Calvin peeing on Ferrari...

I think I once read that the brakes seemed like they were made out of wooden blocks. severe brake fade and the like.what'd you like so much about your Pantera, Mincore?

Want something unique? Why not a replica 550 spyder or 356? Cheap parts, still the old style performance and driving experience and more attention than you can shake a stick at.

(just for those few who don't know what they look like)
To me, that would be the best of both worlds.
As far as I know, there are no 250 Testa Rossa replica available anywhere.
