I think honda has goofed on this new interceptor. it has gotten away from what the vfr really is, a sport bike. not a luxury tourer. the displacment , the looks . i think i'll keep my 03. wonder if it still has vtec?

the vfr used to be their racebike, right? in the 80s?

Too heavy, Honda needs to focus. My zx14 is nearly 50lbs lighter than a VFR, that's pathetic.

I think they were aiming at it as a sport tourer than a sport bike. i'm sure honda wanted it lighter, they could have made it lighter.

They got way too confused. Check the gas tank capacity and you can drop "tourer" out of ANY definition of this bike. I'll want a test ride but I'm not expecting to fall in love.

Very interesting... I'm torn on the looks I guess. I mean, it's not a bad looking bike, but I'll stick with my 2000 I think. I'd definitely test it out, but at nearly 600 lbs, that's way too heavy for my liking I think, at least for a bike that's suppose to be a sport/tourer.

Honda has finally put pricing up on their site for this... starting at $15,999.

$4,000 more than the model it is replacing, or a 33% price hike.

I know it should be more than the outgoing VFR being a 1200cc vs an 800cc, but that is a huge jump.

By the way, don't judge the looks on its photos. I saw it at the Long Beach Cycle World show and it looks a LOT better than any of the photos I saw. Some bikes do not photograph well. I expected to hate the exhaust but it wasn't that bad in person. Fit and finish (on the display bike) was Honda usual, perfect.

I sat on it. Position is considerably more relaxed than the old VFR but still on the sporty side. Felt FJR-ish to me. It was light (easy to toss between the legs, not top-heavy) and narrow.

I know someone who owned a VFR800, sold it and bought a ST1300 for more relaxed ergos, who is lining up to buy this bike.

At that price I'd have to compare it long and hard against the Concours, which also was hit with the ugly stick but has some things I like, such as the keyless ignition.

I haven't read any reviews saying if the VFR throws any heat on the rider, something all of the big water cooled sport-touring bikes do in different ways.
