Anyone know of where there are pics of a W-12 or even a W-16 engine? I mean out of the car, I saw a shot of a W-12 in a Bently on Motorweek, but that was with it in the car (naturally). I'd love to see pics of one out of the car, say on a stand or something, without those plasic engine covers they all have w/ the engine in the car.

Cool, that's what I was looking for, thanks. It's different than I would have expected. I assumed there was a bank of 4 cylinders that stands vertical with 2 banks of 4 cylinders on both sides of it (like the traditional V engines).

think of this, take an inline 6 and smush it together so that the cylinders stagger and you have a narrow angle V6. Take a V12 and do the same thing and you have 2 narrow angle V6s to make the W12

 

two vw VR6s side connected at the crank. woot
