Default Weird problem with my Cadillac -- Any suggestions?

I installed a new dash camera in my Cadillac ATS. The setup consists of a front camera/brain box and a rear-window-mounted camera as well.

The cable connecting to the rear camera causes (what I assume to be) RFI that is blocking my keyless entry signal. If I unplug the rear camera, the keyless entry works from easily 500+ feet away, which is normal for this car. But if I plug the rear camera in, I have to get within about 40 feet of the car for the keyless entry to work.

Any suggestions as to how I might fix this?

Maybe relocate the rear camera? If the antennae that operates the keyless entry is near that camera on the rear window, it could cause signal interference.

Good call on the dash camera! Let me know what brand you have and how you like it after a few weeks. I have a couple Blackvues and am wondering what's newer and better out there nowdays.

Does the manufacturer have a help section with their product? Your issue must not be unique.

Yes. The closest thing I could find is that someone's satellite radio was experiencing interference.

This is the one I bought.

Aside from the issue I'm having, it's pretty good. I have also had a Blackvue camera, and it had some bells and whistles the Z-Edge camera does not. Specifically, the Blackvue had GPS and would monitor your speed and location (which can be a double edged sword). The main draw of theZ-Edge camera is that it has motion activation, an LCD screen so you can watch your videos on the device itself, a button that you can press to "tag" videos so that they don't get written over, and a few other features. The Z-Edge takes a LOT of video clips (when the motion activation is on), so scrolling them with the little pushbuttons on the device is kind of a pain. Nevertheless, it's pretty good overall.

I can't relocate the camera unfortunately. It's as far away from the antenna as it can go while still being on the window.

No, it uses a really long mini USB 3.0 cable.

Wonder if the mini-USB cable is running past some wiring that goes along with the keyless entry? That's really weird.

That looks like a nice camera! I may have to check one out. I think the oldest Blackvue I have is crapping out. I've had it several years, so it's probably time anyway.

You are 100% correct. That's literally the problem. The antenna for my car is right by the rear window. If I just let the wire dangle over the center console, over the back seat, and then into the rear window, it doesn't interfere with the keyless entry. But when I route the wire behind all the body panels, it does.

Is there tape that blocks signal noise that you could just do a quick wrap on the Mini-USB? That's the only thing I could think of to help fix it if you can't reroute it somehow.
