What does it really take
I blame the media.
It's like the small town boy dumping his pretty girlfriend because she doesn't fit the airbrushed media standards.
All of Audi sold less vehicles in the US than the number of Accords sold last month.
There are not many people with these "Halo" vehicles. But to watch Top Gear or read Motortrend, you'd think that everyone is ripping around with 400hp on tap.
It causes unrest for the impressionable youth.
Cars are not that important. If you're feeling that unsettled in your position in life, a car is not going to help very much.
And as many people can attest to... the S2000 is one heckuva car... at any price! So enjoy what you have, gentlemen (and ladies).

I don't think it's a good idea to get a 60K+ car (new or used) to when you aren't even sure you can do it. Difference between buying a 30K+ car and 60K+ car is significantly different, it will effect your financial situation later on. I mean why would you even think about having chunk of debt on a car when it's aren't making load of money? You just paid off your S, just keep it and drive slow in snow or take a PT and save your checks. I think military is a good place to save money. Don't push too hard on your bank. Good luck!
For $20k you can get a really nice older sports car (you already own one!). I for one do not care to own the newest, hottest thing. I like fire-crackers - pure excitement - but it doesn't have to be the best. I get my jollies off just fine drinking Miller as opposed to Chimay. There's a time and place for everything and I'm willing to sacrifice a lot of things to live life by my terms.
That doesn't mean I don't plan to enjoy life MORE next year or 10 years down the line. I put away what I consider reasonable. I cut back on expensive habits if I have to. I always manage to keep a big smile on my face regardless of what I have.
It's okay to dream and it's good motivation to work towards it. But as some have mentioned, be realistic about it and don't dig yourself in a hole you can't crawl out of. I've been close to that a few times and trust me, it's not a good feeling.

Well that is great advice from all of you that was the info I had been looking for and I decided not to buy a 60,000+ car. I still like the idea of selling my s2000 and buying something else. To be honest I will have to wait, oh and yes I plan on staying in the military for 20+ years. Why would I get out I can retire and work the same job now and have 2 paychecks and full benifits. With the way the economy is going too there would be no point to get out with the 3 years I have already put in. I do not plan on buying any car or selling my car untill next year so I have plenty of time to think it over. I would like to buy a house that would be way better then any car but just I am to new into the military not enough time served so they can put me any where any time. I can safely say I will not be buying a $60,000 car but maybe a $45,000 ZO6
One more post to say not to get the RS4.
RS4 (new) will depreciate roughly $10K/year for the next two years. Plus insurance, tires, gas, etc, it works out to $40/day.
think of what you can buy with $40/day.
