Default what should i do?

i've been considering trading in my s for something else, maybe something more exotic

don't get me wrong i LOVE my S, but she's getting old, and since i fixed the bumper and fender, i think i'm going to trade it in
there's an import one near me that has a beautiful porsche cayman s for the price of a new s2k

should i
A: trade in the s for the cayman
B: finish paying off the s (i owe about 5000 on it) and keep it but get the cayman
-OR-
C: trade in my ridgeline for the cayman (this idea doesn't sit well with my wife)

A.

I don't see the point in having both the S and the Cayman S. Though Cayman S will not be an exact substitute of the fun in the S, it should satisfy you in the other area.

Keep the wife happy. Keep the Ridgeline and get rid of the S. The Cayman S is a far better car in every way. I never understood the idea of waiting to pay the car off (obviously, you're not underwater). Why wait and pour more money into a depreciating asset that you want to get rid of anyway? Just get rid of it now and pick up a good deal on a Cayman S. It's a buyer's market. Good luck.

I have just a few more payments until my 2001 S is paid off and I'm considering selling it and picking up something else. I'm considering the cayman s, c5 z06, C6, evo IX, V8 Rx7, or terminator cobra. Not sure if any of those would be more fun then my turbo'd S. BTW I don't want to spend more than 30k.

or option B

Keep it and enjoy no car payment and continue on modding the S.

Keep us posted on if you get the Cayman S.

I'd go with B. The CS will further depreciate while you pay it in full, and your AP1 probably isn't going to take a huge depreciation dive.

Of the options in the first post, I'd go with A, but you latest B option would be what I'd go with. Nothing like a paid off car, leaves more money for mods, maintaining, and other benefits of life. I really think that AP1 values will bottom soon, I just can't fathom seeing any s2000 being worth 5000 bucks unless it's a real dog (I'm sure I'll be eating these words within a few years), just like it's really hard to find clean fox body mustangs, C4 vettes, and other sportscars that people on these boards think aren't worth more than the Honda emblem on our cars for under 5000 (note clean, most fox bodies are really beat up).
