when looking for a used car, which do you prefer?
The title/poll is pretty self-explanatory. Obviously, many other factors could come into play (e.g. options, features, maintenance documentation, etc.) BUT IN GENERAL, when looking at used cars that are VERY SIMILAR IN PRICE, which do you prefer?

Blanket stament is blanketing, but:
One is more likely to have been taken care of, and one is more likely to have been beat to s**t.
If you can't afford a certain car w/out a whole bunch of miles, you probably can't afford that car.
YMMV

depends. Lets say you find a one year old car with 90k on it. Well, to put that kind of miles on, you were driving all highway which means little (or at least less) wear and tear on the car.
Either way though, this poll is kinda silly without any more information. How "old" are we talking? 4 years? 10 years? Old enough where seals and rubber and mice will start to foul things up? How many miles are we talking? 36k in a year? 60k?
Ug. Why am I even commenting still? This is no fun, I need something to aim my spitballs at.

Because you like to yourself talk no matter how inane and ridiculous.

Well I certainly won't argue that.

No way to tell. Some things are mileage related, others are age related. Many engine issues are mileage related (except seals and hoses which are often age related). Suspension is a bit of both. Bushings age, dampers are mileage wear. Things like faded paint and cracked dashboards are age but often chips on the windshield and nose are mileage (highway mileage at that.
You really can't make a blanket statement one way or the other thus condition is key for me.

I look for the best condition possible, and it happens that my car is a 2007 model but with 98,000 miles. If I found an older 04 with even more mileage, but is cleaner than my car, then I would have gone for that instead. Typically, I prefer newer models with more mileages. Some of the things just don't age well like paint. They get scratches, dings, etc over time so that's where most of the newer models shine (no pun intended). Mileage is not a concern for me as all my car has gone past 150k miles with almost no repairs. The lower price due to the high mileage is a win-win for me.
