I will say this, if it had any sort of new or interesting look to it I would've bought it. As it is, yes the Z33 is less powerful, but bottom line side by side, the 350Z LOOKS WISE is in a completly different class. Handling wise as well, not as light or nimble as an S2000 but it does feel a bit more stable if that makes sense. The Cobra will burn rubber in 3rd, it is amazing... nothing can replace that feeling of speed. At the same time the car doesn't feel like it can handle all that power...

rai - I don't get mad... i get even.. ahahah.. just kidding.

The 2 cars are geared towards 2 totally different types of people. The S2000 would be much more rewarding and easier to drive on any track other than a dragstrip..... I can only imagine with any decent straight aways the cobra beating the S2000 though....but on a tight course I doubt 400+hp can keep up.

The lightning does have a 5.4L vs the 4.6 DOHC in the Cobra.... Cobra has an iron block.

In day to day driving, there are not that many places to zip the S2000 around some twisties, so the cobra is actually preferable to me.....

I even like the looks of the Cobra.... but I do carry a switchblade now, and have a Mullet.

I do like the looks of the new cobra.. and at least to me it does look much different than the other versions...... I especially like the dark graphite cobra.. out of the three i've seen in this town. No offense but all three guys driving did have mullets/were smoking a cig/ and had their arm hanging out the window with a large tattoo that you could see because of the white wifebeater they were wearing.
All three drivers looked over at me at the stoplight and arrogantly shook their heads.. I was even going to give them a thumbs up??
You should check out www.mulletsgalore.com
We actually sent off and bought a sticker when i was in undergraduate.... unfortunately I think my buddies truck got broken into because he was the only one who had the nuts to put it on his rear windshield.

Hey CG,

We just need to stop bathing for a little while, (like ccarnel says)...wear our wife beaters in public and possibly throw some double negatives and "ain'ts" into our daily conversations.... i did buy a "CAT Diesel Power" hat so I sort of fit in.....

ahahaha... all in jest.

I honestly don't think I fit in with the typical mustang cobra (or GT) owner, but that is ok. I just won't go to the little get togethers (not that I do that with S2000's anyway).

I ordered 18" LE37 Volks for my mustang, so hopefully they will set me apart as a Ricestang.

Scot, you're right of course the DOHC is a different engine than the lightning not the same engine my bad. It uses the same SC so I got a little mixed up.

Steve C, lighten up. I am not bashing the cobra I never said the cobra $ucks etc... This is a discussion not a bashing. I am just saying and a lot of people agree that lightweight nimble cars are fun to drive. Not everyone wants to rip the tred off their tires.

I just thought this could be a mature discussion, for some people it is for others (flex) it's not.

My curb weight was from C&D since then I've seen 3668 lbs (are you happy now?) Gee that make it a super-lightweight.

Wow Volks on a Mustang. BTW I think you are suppose to get a John Deere hat also.

Frankly, I think you either like performance cars or you don't. I enjoyed driving my LT1 Camaro. I didn't exactly fit that stereotype either. If I could I'd buy a used Cobra and have some fun with it. How many times are you going to get into a street light confrontation with miles of curvy road ahead? I know street racing is bad, and I am not advocating it. But sometimes it's nice to know you can drop the hammer and beat him to the next light.

steve C. Sorry to get you mad

I just thought I'd give this forum a littld spice. I mean it's no good to read only the threads of I test drove a boxster today" etc....

I was on the 350Z forum all the time and although the S2000 threads keep popping up I like defending the S2000 or giving my 2 cents or my perspective.

I haven't driven the cobra so it's a little unfair or abstract (like if I said I like the ferrari more than the porsche 959).
