You obviously have a very, very heavy foot, since I typically get 23-25 mpg mixed driving and always get 28+ mpg on the highway. My first tank when I bought the car returned 25 mpg and I was hammering it constantly! 

25 mix, and 30-32 highway for me.

I was lucky to get 8mpg on the track
My average on the road was 17mpg for the entire time I owned them which is worse then my Pilot
