I was at 308 WHP on an 06 STI after exhaust, intake, and tune.

It probably goes without saying but you will need to get an extra set of wheels and winter tires to really enjoy the car - AWD won't do ANYTHING for you with the stock tires that come on a STI when it comes to snow. Get a full extra set (Blizzak or something similar on some cheap wheels) and swap them in the summer.

As for WRX / STI, the STI has a MUCH better transmission, and if you decide to go more into modding later on will be much better equipped to handle it with no worries. I would highly advise getting the STI unless you just cannot afford it (if you are cross shopping cars in the $50k range that shouldn't be an issue).

do you NEED the power of an s4 avant or 335ix? because a chipped/moded a4 2.0t avant should be pretty fun. and the 328ix wagon is not too too boring...
