Default Wtf? Cbr600rr?

This one blind-sided me. I had no clue Honda was developing a second 600cc bike. Check it out here. The CBR600F4i hasn't lagged behind the other 600s by much, if at all, so I never anticipated the need for a wholly new model. Anybody know the story behind this one and if there's anything special about it? As far as I can tell, the RR is supposed to be to the F4i what the YZF-R6 is to the YZF-600R.

Honda has lagged in outright track performance stock b/c of their focus on comfort...i.e. the pegs drag easily and the high bars don't weight the front end enough.

The RR is designed as a "take no prisoners" bike, and will be much harder edged. Lighter engine internals, higher redline, underseat exhaust, etc.

Miguel Duhamel is claiming that the stock RR is faster and handles better than his factory AMA Supersport F4i! OK, we know who's payroll he's on, but it still sounds very promising.

Try to find a pic of this bike in race trim...it looks VERY exotic, almost like Rossi's RC211V minus the upside down forks!

Kawi also has a two-pronged approach for '03, w/ a 636 (more street oriented) and a 599cc racier version. USD forks, radial mount brakes, slipper clutch, and adjustable swingarm pivot...this may be the trickest and most potent of a very exciting '03 600 class.

i have gone 5000 miles on my svs in the past 2 months. i have ridden it to hell. gone threw 45 atleast 15 more times sense my wreck (and went threw the place i have wrecked every time) i have driven this thing to hell. the first time i went back i went threw the place i wrecked 5 times over. and that road is really......realllllly. shitty. i have been to 3 track days and 1, 2 day long riding clinic/racing school at putnam park. i bought a full leather suit and leather pants for when im not on the track. the crash was an accident, shit happens. i even pulled over to check out what exactly happened. it was a fixed pothole that is like 1inch above the actual road and another pothole behind that which is what sent me off the road.

and btw, i got another job. 18 hours a week (the max i can do) and i get 8 bucks and hour plus commision. so i get a good amont of money. the svs is almost paid off and im gonna sell it this spring if i really want to get an r6. i have about 7500 on the svs. even my dad, who was the one who REALLY didnt want me getting an f4i, feels comfortable with me on a 600. considering my dads friend has a gsxr 600 let me take it around putnam park for 20 laps. i feel ready. but if i do get an r6 it will be in may or june. that lets me get in some more track days.

dont get me wrong tho, i love my svs!!!!! im very thankful you are here chris. if it wasnt for your input i might have been badly injured or alot more money into that bike to fix it. i still havnt done anyhting yet sense the accident. just a new turnsignal and shifter.

i even took the MSF course again after the accident (MY DECISSION). i am making motorcycling a big hobby of mine. I LOVE IT and, i dont want to get badly injured while doing it. i would not get a bike i didnt feel comfortable on.
