Yahoo is almost always a poor imitation of news but this one was especially bad.
It's one of those age old articles about what you should get since you want a Ferrari but you don't have deep pockets.

It really doesn't seem like that bad of a comparison, minus the last one. How would a Nissan Frontier compare with a Ford raptor?

 

#7 is way off-base. The others aren't so bad.

 

You can't write an article like that and expect not to get any flack. I get what the article's point was in spirit though, obviously you can't replace an m5 with anything less than an m5, heck people will argue if you replaced it with an e63. But the writer could've used better examples though imo, for example m3 to mustang gt, or 911 turbo to GTR, or RS4 to STI, etc etc. Some of them are a bit stretchy.
