I test drove an SS a couple of weeks ago and was horrified. The blind spots and outward visibility in general is abominable and the interior wasn't far off. Maybe this car isn't for me, but you'd have to be a huge fanboy to excuse these drawbacks.

Wait, previously wasn't the hierarchy of Camaro from low to high:

Base --> Z28 --> SS ?

Is this new Z28 coming in above the SS model now? If so, that's pretty lame.

^I think waaaaaay back when, the Z28 was always top dog. In the 90's they switched it.

dude what does that do to the cost? I assume it is gonna be detuned from the ZR-1 but the cost to manufacture should be about the same... I don't know...a $50,000 camaro just doesn't do it for me.

obviously you haven't driven an s2000 lately, talk about blind spots (with the top up of course) aka doing it wrong.

^The S2000 is a convertible. IMO, it's a given that the blind spots are going to suck. The Camaro is a coupe.

This is going to be incredibly fast. It should be priced a few thousand more than a GT500. I don't see the problem with a 50k Camaro. It does have 550 warrantied hp and the figures should be highly competitive. Its as close to a Z06 2+2 Coupe as GM enthusiasts will get.

the Z28 used to be top of the line, then GM killed the SS and Z line...brought it back in 93 as the "only" top model....SLP then tuned the Z and since they didn't have any imagination decided to call it the "SS"...then GM started making the "SS" instead of having to go specifically through SLP.

Blind spots in my older SS was less than on my s2000. Im willing to bet this one is the same!
