Default 2 years with an f80 m3

Really so far so good. I have a 2016 6 speed yas marina blue m3. I drive this most of the time. Since I have more than one car, I don't drive any of them allot. After 18000 miles, one road trip to sf-portland and back and mostly commute miles I can safely say I have not had one problem, not one. This car is comfy even in heavy traffic, the clutch is light, steering communicative, etc...sound, even with the phony electronic part, is nice imho. it is possible to customize many things and set them to two buttons memory, so the car is yours....touch of a button....

The car is amazing, if you are not careful the tires can smoke under 40 mph in any of the first 3 gears......yes you can drift this ALL day.... I can pass anyone, anytime it is safe, and maneuver in traffic like no other car I have had. My average mpg is 23-25 all day long. Seats are very comfy after you get into them, the bolstering is good therefore it's not an easy slide in. The stereo, a harmon kardon unit is great, has a hard drive, cd player, and sat radio. Split fold down rear seat comes in handy all the time, nice trunk space....

Maintenance and the warranty go to 4 years or 50K, every time I bring it to the dealer, the same dealer I brought my 335i m sport to, I get better treatment than with the 335. Seems Bmw not only treats their m customers better but so does the dealer,go figure. Gearbox is the rubbery smooth short shifter that Bmw can make. Brakes are massive and stop well under any conditions. This thing even drives very well in heavy rain. I find I have a sense of confidence in what I can do with this car. It's comfy on long trips. I did not buy the 3 way electronic suspension, but went with whatever m division chose for the car, no regrets. As fast as the 335i was and as well as it handled, this car is sooooo much better, well worth the extra cash....fenders flared, composite trunk lid, turbo intercooler hood bulge, lowered, sport exhaust (which sound like a garbage truck on cold start), lots of m bits on the suspension, m brakes, lots of cool stuff factory designed and well sorted for the extra cash over a 440 or 340. I really can't judge how much hp it has, says 425, but me thinks more....power anytime, all the time, with two turbos...no lag. I could just go on and on....I know i am still in the honeymoon, I have had 4 bmws, but this one is the dream car, a keeper regardless of the cost.

no sunroof...i have the stock carbon fiber roof and driveshaft and strut tower brace.

Somehow it feels and drives like it is somehow smaller than it is, very nimble for it's 3500 or so lbs. Lots of little m features abide. I would buy this again. i don't need the performance upgrade now offered.
I say someday this will be a cheaper car, go drive one and think about ownership, it's like nothing else in the way of family transportation that puts a smile on your face every day.

I have kept it up well, detailed by me and a pro, washed by me....lives in a garage....its a 10 out of ten, and every car has something...so my spoiler was chewed up by my dog, and the side of the bumper as well....i am leaving it that way as you end up scraping these low cars someday if you have a life...a carbon fiber colored cover for the lower lip and the chewed parts would work.
seats look new, interior smells great as new, just go to the images google for yas marina blue with black interior, carbon fiber trim...i forgot to mention it has an electronic limited slip diff, a 3.0 staight six with two different size turbos, one is always spooling pretty much, the steering is electronic, has three settings, i like milktoast. the engine has three settings, i prefer sport...sport plus turns off traction control with warning lights on.

Sounds about right.

We had a '15 435i M-Sport and my brother still has his '15 F82 M4. Both solid cars w/ no issues.

Have you considered "coding" the car?

I am not going to modify this car, at least till it is out of warranty...i know i can have a dynan tune and other chips that are not detectable, but the car has ample power and more torque than I can use in daily life already. A friend of mine had the same car which he got after driving mine....with a chip, bought used, dealer found the chip and told him he needed to remove that tune before they would do warranty work....and his car was no faster than mine....

my 2013 335i m sport bounced about allot under load, this car...not. The 335i felt larger, less nimble even with the 3 position suspension option. And as fast as it felt, it was no m3.

The 335i also cut out now and then into limp mode, i would have to pull over and restart, not good, never found that glitch. One drive in the m3 and I was hooked, my son got a 2008 v8 m3, drove it and ordered my m3, not even driven first....

"coding" is NOT the same as JB4 or a Dinan or any tune. It's not about HP, it's about features. Auto-folding side mirrors, flashing of rear brake light under heavy braking, etc .....

I have the run of the mill 328i, and I have to say, all of the warnings I heard about EVERYTHING going wrong was nonsense. Now I only have 40,000 miles, they did extend the timing chain warranty to 70,000 because some have been problematic and grenade some engines, but if I keep it beyond 70,000 miles, I will spend the $2k for a new chain.

Otherwise, everything has been really well built and fairly high quality. I expected at least one trip for warranty work, but in five years, nothing.

Thinking about the next 3 series when I see how the reviews come in, or an M240i.

I'd love an M3 either this gen or the next gen, but right now I'd have to ditch the Cayman for it and I am going to be buried in that car.

What i have found, and my son always says "duh", is that the m3 is a different car altogether. I just went in for my free 20,000 mile service, so far i have spent ZERO in two years on this thing, but I will need tires soon. BMW , at least this dealer, treats you differently for service, better I would say than with a 3 series. The car is also so different, many many things that make it special make it a bargain, yes a bargain, for about 10k more than a 335 or 440 of whatever they call it now....and you can still get a manual as God intended.

Fenders, suspension, interior trim, seats, options that are standard, gearbox and or linkage, the special M rear limited slip diff, the amazing engine, hood, top, trunk lid, wheels, driveshaft....just to name a few things, so a used m3 means you get all sorts of tricked out things that would cost about 20k to add to the 3 series to make it just comparable....I don't care what chip, tune, any amount of lowering, or downpipe, exaust and intake you have, the 3.0 in the m3 will smoke it....the suspension, and i don't have the 3 way adjustable one which I think is useless, is just sooooo well sorted.

plus my car came with 4 years warranty and SERVICE, the hk stereo which was previously an option and free nav....and i was able to order it, get it within two months, and get it at a discount of about 5% off sticker through my auto broker, in the color I wanted and with only the options I wanted, plus i could have had a free sunroof.....YAS MARINA BLUE is an awsome color. I have the 18 inch wheels, and a few options i wanted....
