I have a trusted mechanic that did the work. Fresh head build, fresh coolant lines, new water pump/timing belt etc. New motor mounts.

She really feels like a new car.

Did your mechanic say anything about the condition of the head when he got it?

Yeah the car had bad compression on #3 so we opted to remove the head and send it in to the machine shop. I ended up going with the entire supertech valvetrain and compression is dead even across the board. I also had ARP Headstuds installed.

Ah that's too bad, but nice upgrades!

Was just wondering because my GS-R's engine has never had any internal work and she's sitting on 327,000 miles. Everything seems fine but I'm probably going to do a compression test in a few weeks. Valvetrain looked pretty great a few months ago when I had the valve cover off to do the timing belt. Though that was a visual inspection only, haha.

I bought an mr2 for half price once because I compression tested it in the guy's driveway and one cylinder was low. We both assumed the head gasket was shot (coolant was low and very common on those cars). As it turned out, it just needed a valve adjustment .

Drools! I've always loved the ITRs. Wish I could have one to compliment my GPW AP2. Okay, which do you like more? S2K or ITR?
