Might be interesting, but arent they 4 years late? Seems like everyone else has their product already to market or in the next year.

this is basically going to be a GTO on a new body..... 400hp but weigh 4000lbs just like the Mustang and every other new car.

Not that exciting when a stock Evo can beat it in the Qtr mile.

I agree, too late. Also a shame that there will be a v6 to water down the image. 100k / year sounds optimistic, there is only so much market to go around. Still, I think it is the best design of the batch.

They say the make the Corvette and that it gets 28 mpg. That's true (if you keep your foot out of it) but it's also a much lighter car. There is no way the Camaro won't be at least 300 lbs heavier - probably more like 500 or 600 lbs, and less aerodynamic (check out its shape). They will be lucky to get 25 mpg highway, which isn't even remotely "good"... They get that out of minivans and medium sized SUVs these days.

It will be DOA if the market continues it's trends.
The v6 may sell well if it appeals to women, ala the mustang.

I foresee too many '4's in the Camaro's spec sheet:
400hp
4000lbs
4-teen mpg

whereas it needs more '3's to be successful:
330hp
3300lbs

It will prolly have some sort of variable displacement tech, which is fine except if you actually use the throttle. EPA 26mpg, observed... 12mpg.

My 2002 SS Camaro used to get 26mpg in normal commuting when I had one. Not bad for 345 horses. 6th gear lopes you around 1500rpm at 65mph. So are you laughing now JonBoy? Fact is, 6speed LS1s got great mileage.
