As a daily driver to pair with the S2000, what's not to like about this car?

Personally, I think there are better DDs to choose from.

Although I somewhat agree, the only options for small 3-door hatches are: Cooper, GTI and Yaris.
I like the looks of the CR-Z which is the main reason I'm thinking of picking it up. I don't really like the way the other cars look..mini cooper is cool from the outside, but its damn expensive and I HATE the interior...GTI is the only competitor for me, but the price is what gets me.

If they had brought the Scirocco over, game over, man..

The problem with the CR-Z (and small hybrids in general) is that they don't really offer that much fuel savings for what you pay in sticker price over a similarly equipped Honda Fit. Even a Prius would have to cover a lot of miles before the driver made up the savings in improved gas mileage of a Fit (or Versa, new Fiesta, etc.)
If it had Fit gas mileage with Civic Si performance, then it would be something to get worked up about, but right now it looks like an updated 1st generation Insight. It will probably sell about as well too.
Also, with a 13.4 horsepower electric motor, does the addition of the electric power really outweigh (pun unavoidable) the weight penalty of the batteries and motor?

I agree with the above post. A Sirocco Diesel or Golf GTD would probably smoke this car in all categories in a competition for best fuel efficient fun car.

I guess a hybrid can potentially be cleaner/more fuel-efficient than a diesel if you are careful/attentive with your driving (i.e. slow accel./long spaces for slow deccel., etc.) but with the way 99% of people are going to be driving, a diesel is at least as efficient. So then it's down to a numbers game: a hybrid engine with 110hp - 140lb/ft, or a diesel with 140hp - 240lb/ft... (and keep in mind, for those who want more power, a simple ECU flash will easily bump those VW diesel engines +30hp+50lb/ft, whereas you're pretty much stuck with what you get in a hybrid)

As many as it takes for these blind Honda fanbois to wake up and smell the coffee.

I really want to like Honda's latest offerings but they get more shit by the minute. They could have really made a cool car in this thing but failed.

But hey, Acura is the only mfr to offer 5 star crash ratings in all their sedans

The fix for that car is so simple, yet it flew completely over the top of Honda's head. Put a freaking K20 into it, and it will sell like hot cakes.
