While the car is impressive, its really what I hate about where the auto industry is going in regards to sports cars.

Leave the computer driving aides out of real sports cars.

Ah, thanks. Sounds a little meh, but oh well.

The Nissan dealer down the street has 3 GT-Rs and I loved the way they looked. I haven't had the opportunity to drive one, but I'd love to DD one, as nuts as that sounds LOL. Gotta research...

You can have a 500 hp GTR for probably $2500-4000. I'll go check some sites but to me that is cheap for that kind of gain.

Now go check your prices to drop that FATTY to a respectable 3300 lbs and you will quickly see that without stripping the car to NOTHING its going to be BIG MONEY.......talking in the double digit figures.....so yes, I consider spending 4 grand to get 500 HP crank to be very cheap.

I'm going to guess this will be like the G35s when they gained power. They went up like 20 or so horses a while back. There was basically no change in 1/4 mile trap speeds. It seemed like Nissan was able to pull a higher peak out of the hat but did so at the expense of midrange power. Net result was the engine looked better on paper but wasn't in real life.

The weightloss may seem small, but they totally enhanced the handling and such. The results? Incredible handling and braking numbers.

It's a little hard to lose weight in this type of car - having an advanced AWD system, dual-clutch auto transmission, and all the tech and electronic nannies. That's why the Lambo Murc weighs well over 4000lbs.

I wonder if the new GTR still has the modified launch control that keeps it from grenading some of the drivetrain or did they beef those parts up a little bit?
The current 2010 already has a revised launch mode and has no more "launch issues" as previously claimed with the '09.

I remember hearing that a brake job (at the dealer anyway) was $7500. Forget upgrades, that's some serious maintenance costs. But then again, I suppose if your buying a GT-R you're prepared for that kind of thing *shrug*

I'd love to own one.... if the car didn't drive itself

Sorta, kinda. I still think the maintenance is high relative to the price and performance (vs. a Porsche, Corvette, Viper, etc.)
