2016 Audi S3 Review
#61
Finally had the chance to pull the S2000 over into the other garage and park it next to the S3. The S2000 makes the S3 look big, "normal", and pedestrian.

Details on your car please? I think there have been a few S2000 owners that have picked up S3's after reading my review which is pretty cool.
The car is turbo, OEM tune, with DBW so its not as instantaneous as the S2000 when I hit the gas. There is turbo lag and there always will be lag on turbo cars.
Are you in Sport mode? In D mode the throttle pedal is less sensitive to help with fuel economy.
How much throttle (%) would you say you are applying in the situations that you feel the car doesn't really do anything? With most DBW cars i've found the throttle to almost be an on/off switch when it comes to performance. I've learned to like this in the S3 because its easy to go fast and have fun (more pedal) or to get 30mpg by not having a heavy foot.

Might just be a VW thing. I feel like my '16 GTI has a much less sensitive accelerator than my Hondas, but I've gotten used to it. Adjust how you treat the pedal and it's plenty responsive.

Btw, thanks for the review, helped with my decision!

Yeah, I notice the slight turbo lag but there is about an inch or two travel with no response. Its sad my old Nissan Pathfinder has better throttle response.
I agree it will help with my fuel consumption though. I notice it in Comfort and Dynamic.

As stated, to get really good throttle response, you have to be in sport mode for the transmission. Usually, switching to the dynamic setting will automatically throw the transmission into sport, but sometimes it doesn't.
I found the throttle to be pretty responsive in all areas on my S4. And it is the same in the SQ5. The A3/S3 being new might have a different system, especially since it was shared with the Jetta.
