2018 Toyota/BMW Supra

Who designed that body? IMHO, one of more overdone, over-baked ones I've seen these days. And that is saying a lot.

TOYODA.!!! Take a look at the new Lexussss... |
EH? The FT-1 concept car (pictured in link) has been out almost a year. Nothing new about that design.

I think that's a nice looking car, kind of resembles the batmobile. It would be nice if Toyota released a new sports car in between the new Toyota Supra and the Scion FRS. Buyers need a midrange car, whereas young college students can afford the FRS and older folks can purchase the new Toyota Supra. There needs to be an in-between.

The real downside to this news that it might be mostly BMW hardware is modding. The BMW inline 6 is capable of lots of power but they make the cars with integrated ECU's that control the whole car. They have made the ECU's so hard to crack to tune that even Dinan has resorted to goofy piggyback contraptions instead of flashing new tunes.
While they can be made to crank out gobs more power, BMW has made new models very difficult to work around their software and they are not friendly to aftermarket developers. |
Yeah, I'm not the least bit enthused that the drivetrain is going to be by BMW.
Seriously...biggest car company in the world, and they can't even develop their own sports car. What does that say about Toyota? |
Will probably be $60k+. Nope
|
Batman is impressed. Me, less so.

stupid. stupid. stupid, Toyota,
oh how you've lost your way. Your lexi are numb, heavy, and fat your camry falls flat. The Celica is dead, The supra a memory. Just don't think your concept FT-1, Will be last gen Supra fun. ok, ok, i'm no poet. then again, toyota designers aren't doing any better. darcy |
